The Path to Continuous Testing

Everyone has heard the buzzwords about DevOps, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Testing. Yet understanding what that actually means is a different story. For while everyone seems to believe it’s a desired goal, not everyone understands the changes that will have to take place to facilitate it. Automated tests, no matter the tool, cannot be built and executed in a vacuum. They must be incorporated into the entire software process: from requirements gathering, to code deployments, to database refreshes, to truly be successful. Even with good automated testing coverage, making the transition to fully continuous testing can be a challenge. Join me as I discuss some of the common pitfalls and barriers on the path to continuous testing.

This presentation is light hearted, a little funny, and very informative.

Session Takeaways:

  • What continuous testing is, and how it relates to automated testing and continuous integration.
  • How to transition from automated testing to continuous testing.
  • Common pitfalls and barriers along the way.
